Capitala sponsors Dragon Boat Racing Team in Abu Dhabi


Capitala, the Abu Dhabi-based strategic real estate master planner and developer, today announced that it is sponsoring the ‘Capitala Dragons Abu Dhabi’ team participating in the inaugural Dragon Boat Festival, being held on the 13^th – 15^th November as part of the ‘Adrenaline Sports Live’ event.
 
Capitala is a strategic joint venture company between Mubadala and CapitaLand, one of Asia’s largest real estate companies, based in Singapore. The spirit of this joint venture is now being transferred from land to water with Capitala sponsoring the ‘Capitala Dragons Abu Dhabi’ team that comprises of Singaporeans working in Abu Dhabi with over half the team being Capitala employees.
 
Acting CEO Heang Fine Wong of Capitala, explains, “This is the first opportunity for Capitala to sponsor a Dragon Boat and gives us the perfect chance to showcase the spirit of co-operation between Abu Dhabi and Singapore that is demonstrated by Capitala, which is itself a joint venture real estate company between Mubadala and CapitaLand.
 
All the qualities that are integral to the successful joint venture are also key attributes for this inaugural Dragon Boat racing - strategy, team spirit, and synchronicity - not to mention focus and determination. We are very proud to be sponsors of the ‘Capitala Dragons Abu Dhabi’ team at an event that promises to be a lot of fun for the whole community and which also represents what Capitala is creating at Arzanah”.  
 
Dragon boat racing is one of the world’s fastest growing team water sports. Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, dragon boats are 40 feet long and painted to resemble dragons with a featured carved dragon head at the bow. Teams of up to 20 people paddle in unison, to the marshalling beat of an on-board drummer.

The event organizers, Adrenaline Sports Live Abu Dhabi, are promoting this community event as a thrilling water sport that is all about positive team spirit, being healthy and having fun.
