branded business in 2008

Mindware, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East, has been awarded the ‘Best Distributor - Branded Growth’ by Kingston Technology, the world''s largest independent manufacturer of memory and digital media products, for the year 2008. The award was recently conferred to the leading IT distributor for achieving a 16 per cent growth rate for its Kingston branded business in 2008 at Kingston’s Channel Partner event, which took place during the recently concluded GITEX Dubai 2008. Mindware was also awarded two additional awards including the ‘2nd Best Distributor - Branded Revenue 2008’ and the ‘2nd Best Distributor -Branded High-end Revenue 2008’, in recognition of its outstanding performance and effective distribution strategy for Kingston products in the Middle East.

With industry experts projecting the regional demand for compact memory cards to rise substantially in the coming years, Kingston Technology is focused on strengthening its distribution network in the Middle East. The company’s partnership with Mindware is aimed at leveraging the growing demand for IT memory products in the region through the distributor’s results-driven and value-added distribution strategy and dedicated team of professionals. The manufacturer has also distinguished the distributor’s strong branded ram business, which reiterates Mindware’s focus on the growing memory and digital media markets in the region.

“We are proud to be a partner of Kingston Technology in the region and to be awarded this honour as their top distributor in the Middle East is a great bonus to our privileged relationship with the company,” said Seema Wadhwa, Product Manager - Components unit, Mindware. “This award is a testament to our expertise and widespread reseller network, which has made us a valuable partner for Kingston Technology. We are very motivated to work towards achieving further growth for this brand in the region, and our focus now is to implement our proven strategies and leverage the booming demand by bringing these industry-leading products closer and more accessible to regional clients.”

With a portfolio of over 2,000 memory products that support nearly every device that uses memory - from computers, servers and printers to MP3 players, digital cameras and cell phones, Kingston Technology is regarded as one of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in America’ by Fortunemagazine. Headquartered in Fountain Valley, California, the company employs more than 4,500 people worldwide, and has recorded sales that exceeded USD 4.5 billion in 2007. Through its partnership with Mindware, the company has participated at the recently concluded ‘Gitex 2008’ in Dubai, where it exhibited its top-of-the-line memory and digital media products.

“With our focus on a two-tier, indirect sales model, channel partners are the key to Kingston Technology’s continued success,  we have been partners with Mindware since 2006, and we are very satisfied with the focus and attention, which they are giving Kingston products. Mindware has been awarded in recognition of their focus, professionalism and dedication in promoting our brand and we are looking forward to further strengthening our partnership in the coming years,”concluded Antoine Harb, Business Development Manager, Middle East & Africa, Kingston Technology.

Leveraging its extensive geographical reach and regional expertise, Mindware has successfully forged strategic partnerships with the world’s leading manufacturers, and has recently invested in a state-of-the-art office located in Riyadh, which will serve as a domestic hub for its KSA operations and is expected to usher in further business growth in the Kingdom. The company recorded USD 200 million in revenues in 2007, which reaffirms the company’s growing market dominance in the region.
