 At the 6^th Middle East Natural & Organic Product Expo 2008 Hall 1&2 DWTC
 
From November 16^rd to 18^th 2008, the French Region Rhône- Alpes will be participating at the 6^th Middle East Natural & Organic Product Expo 2008 in Dubai with 7 companies under one roof, The France Rhône- Alpes Pavilion. the French companies will showcase innovative products to fit a growing market in the UAE and in the region.  France is one of the worldwide leading countries as a manufacturer of natural and organic products.
 
Rhône-Alpes is a leading region in the field of organic agriculture. The Rhône-Alpes region features:
-       The largest number of organic farms with 1,467 producers and over 48,000 cultivates hectares,
-       Over 600 processing companies of organic products,
-        Over 300 stores that sell organic products,
-       Over 50 companies and laboratories active in the filed of organic cosmetics, which position Rhône-Alpes as a leading region to this market.
 
Due to its divers soils and climates, from the Alps to Provence, Rhône-Alpes produces a wide variety of products. This characteristic positions Rhône-Alpes as a major supplier of organic raw materials with:
 
-       23 % of the national production of organic fruits (leading French region),
-       43 % of the production of aromatic, medicinal and perfume plants (leading region),
-       Second place nationwide for the production of fresh vegetables,
-       Second place nationwide for the production of organics eggs.
 
The organic sector has a strong development potential. It experienced 10 % growth per year for the food industry and 40 % growth per year for cosmetics in 2007.
