Dubai, UAE, 19th November, 2008 (ME NewsWire) - Reflecting its commitment to adopt best service practices, Imdaad, the facility management solutions provider of Dubai World, is participating in a conference on how to do dangerous works safely. The conference is organized by Imdaad’s service partner - British Safety Services UK - and will be held at Dubai’s Four Seasons Golf Club in Festival City on Nov.26 and Qatar on Nov 24th 2008.


Imdaad will present a research paper on job related accidents highlighting the factors contributing, effects & how to build up the work environment that will ensure the active participation of the whole organization to minimize work place accidents.

The exclusive one-day event will offer delegates the opportunity to learn, share, debate and network with safety experts.


The conference is intended to give delegates an insight into different perspectives of doing dangerous things safely, with a variety of speakers who will both entertain and stimulate discussion on how to bring health and safety practices into work and lifestyle.


By attending this event, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from specialists in occupational safety and health, sport and business. Delegates will be able to take useful analogies and examples of best practice to help them in their workplace.


Ali Hassan Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Imdaad, said: “Facility management sector is expected to grow at twice the current rate once the projects under progress reach delivery stage. This makes the sector a major player in real estate business. Moreover,  Safety remains the most important requirement at work places, not only for facility management services, but also for the occupant of the facilities and all other operations. Every means of safety and protection must be provided at the work place,” he noted.


“Imdaad has been following safety parameters of highest international standards. We conduct regular workplace inspections and provide the workers with the right kind of safety means that the particular work needs. Accidents, if and when it happens, are immediately attended to and reports are made to study how it happened and the nature of injuries. This will help in preventing such things recurring in the future,” Al Suwaidi added.


Imdaad carefully assesses the workplace and regularly checks safety equipment to ensure efficiency. Every step is recorded for reference while annual safety plans are prepared. Awareness programmes are conducted for Imdaad staff and other services companies'' staff in the facilities managed by Imdaad to help them learn about possible safety risks and how to prevent them. Imdaad also distributes safety bulletins among its employees.


Al Suwaidi said real estate development companies need to co-ordinate on new methods of buildings management, including those related to safety measures. The facility management sector is still in its early stages of development here and needs a lot more experience as well as skilled and talented workforce. Imdaad is committed to maintaining the highest quality in service delivery and constant upgrading of its operation systems and competencies of its staff, he added.


The conference on safety practices will focus on the best practices in the field. The event has attracted considerable attention from administrators and supervisors of safety personnel engaged in works of dangerous nature. Topics to be discussed include case studies of worksite accidents and the major factors causing them, effective communication with workers and how to ensure optimum implementation of safety measures.
