Dubai Refreshments Company Signs Up As DSF Key Sponsor For 12th Consecutive Year

Dubai Refreshments Company (DRC) will extend its long standing partnership with Dubai Shopping Festival to the 12th year, having signed up as a key sponsor for DSF 2008. During the annual shopping festival, the company will also host the 4th edition of ‘Sports Fiesta’, the largest sports event for schools in the UAE.

Alan Salem, CEO of Dubai Refreshments Company, said, “Dubai Refreshments Company has enjoyed a strong association with DSF since its inception. Fun, excitement, variety and universal appeal characterise this event that has established Dubai as the shopping capital of the world and we are proud to be part of this great initiative by the Dubai government."

Started in 2003 by DRC, Sports Fiesta includes a heady mix of basketball, football and cricket tournaments. Now in its fourth edition, the event has become a regular fixture on the DSF activity calendar, attracting over 1000 spectators every year.

The action packed event is spread over a month and will take place at the Safa Park from January 26-February 26, 2008. Winners of basketball, football and cricket tournaments will receive trophies, medals and other gifts and all team members will receive a certificate of participation.

Other competitions include best dance team, best DJ and break-dance contests. Winners will have the opportunity to walk away with attractive prizes like MP3 players, consoles and gift vouchers. The venue will also host food outlets and live entertainment including a martial arts show!
