  •  Partnership seeks to raise level of collaboration and enhance drive for excellence and quality in business of two countries

Dubai Quality Group (DQG) has announced that it has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jabir Quality Award (JQA), KuwaitCs premier institution that promotes quality and excellence in both public and private sectors; in a move that reinforces DQGCs goal to expand its global network and enhance cooperation with its Kuwaiti counterpart in deriving excellence in business.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Wafi Dawood, Vice Chairman, DQG; and Yousef Al Wattar, General Coordinator and member of the JQA Higher Committee; during the recent JQA annual ceremony at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry wherein various organisations that have positively contributed in improving KuwaitCs national economy were recognised and awarded.

"Cooperation is a vital element in promoting quality and excellence. Dubai Quality Group deems it important to be able to communicate, share ideas and explore possibilities with our international partners, as this is a vital step towards the growth of our own organisation and the promotion of our core values and beliefs. We are therefore very pleased with this new partnership with Jabir Quality Award, which opens new avenues for mutual growth and development," said Dr. Wafi Dawood, Vice Chairman, DQG.

Jassim Al-Kharafi, Former Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assemblycommented: "In my capacity as a representative of the Kuwaiti Government, I consider this partnership an important complementary initiative to the governmentCs own programs to enhance the level of quality and excellence in KuwaitCs business community. I would like to commend Dubai Quality Group and Jabir Quality Award for this collaborating for the greater good of the region."

"With economies in the Gulf opening up, key players in the region must also be fully prepared to handle the unprecedented shifts and changes in the business dynamics. As such, JQA believes that partnering with highly experienced quality-oriented organisations such as Dubai Quality Group is the right way forward in our mission to help organisations maintain their stronghold in a rapidly evolving and globalised business environment," said Yousef Al Wattar, General Coordinator and member of the JQA Higher Committee.

Under the MoU, DQG and JQA will continuously exchange expertise, material and knowledge with the aim of consolidating the business environment of both countries, while also striving to cooperate in promoting awareness on the importance of quality and excellence in business.

Both parties will likewise promote collaboration among their respective member organisations in the fields of business excellence consultancy and research and development, while facilitating on-site visits and joint conferences and exhibitions to further strengthen ties among the business communities of both countries.

DQG and JQA both have the luxury of being patronised by the highest leaders of their respective countries. DQG has been established and guided by the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop Dubai as a centre of excellence; while JQA adheres to the forward-thinking directives of H.H. Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, to reposition Kuwait to become a successful economic centre in the region.

DQG has intensified its campaign to promote business quality and excellence across all sectors as part of its aim to project an image of high-quality, innovation and excellence for Dubai. Aside from partnering with similar quality-oriented organisations, DQG also conducts numerous high-profile networking events, benchmarking activities and comprehensive workshops and seminars that offer high-impact results in terms of improving business performance and quality standards.

JQA has been working to improve the competency of Kuwaiti organisations by helping enhance their management and technical capabilities, as recent statistics reveal that over 500 Kuwaiti firms have already been certified as quality organisations and recognised by various international authorities for their distinguished customer service and quality products. This yearCs edition of JQA handed out awards in six categories and was sponsored and attended by Jassim Mohammed al Kharafi.
