• Initiative to foster cooperation amongst the business community in Dubai


• Renowned quality pioneers to be honoured

 Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Chairman of Emirates Group and Chairman of the Dubai Quality Group, the Department of Economic Development (DED) and Dubai Quality Group (DQG) will organise the “Share Best Practice 2008” Conference & Exhibition on Thursday, 26 June 2008. The event aims at promoting the culture of quality and excellence in performance among the business community in Dubai.
 
The annual conference, which will be held in Safinah Ballroom at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and expected to attract more than 400 delegates, will provide the winners of the Dubai Quality Award 2007 with a platform to share their best practices in quality management with the wider business community in the emirate. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President of e-Total Quality Management (e-TQM) College, and Ron Kaufman, the world’s leading educator and motivator for upgrading customer service and uplifting service culture, will also address the conference.
 
“The conference comes in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to further establish Dubai as a center for international best practices for quality and service excellence,” said Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General for Executive Affairs at DED.
 
“Dubai Government is continuously on the lookout to instill a deep-rooted quality culture and promote the concepts of quality and excellence in all Dubai businesses. The Dubai Quality Award has put the spotlight on the importance Dubai’s business community places on initiatives that enhance overall quality – both at the work place and in terms of systems and procedures. It also reiterates the qualitative growth environment provided by Dubai for businesses to prosper” he added.

Renowned quality pioneers will be honoured during the conference for their contributions to quality management practices. The DQA Secretariat will also distribute a book featuring the best practices submitted by the 2007 award winners. The book will include detailed entries by each of the award winners, thus enabling potential applicants to get an insight into the benefits of applying for the award.
 
A specialised exhibition, which includes booths for the DQA winners, will be organised alongside the ‘Share Best Practice 2008’ Conference.
