- DSS Signature Event to feature 12 labels and two designers
Renowned international brands are slated to dominate the 2008 edition of Kids Fashion Week, a Dubai Summer Surprises Signature Event, when the event begins on July 3 at Dubai Festival City, a key sponsor of DSS 2008 and a member of the Dubai Shopping Malls Group.
First held in 2003, Kids Fashion Week aims to keep DSS audience posted on the latest trends in the kids fashion industry around the globe and has become a prominent fixture in Dubai’s fashion calendar.
The brands lined up for this year include United Colors of Benetton, Kenzo Kids, Blumarine, Jacadi, Diesel Kids, Okaidi, Sisley, Moschino, Miss Grant & GF, Souris Mini, Pumpkin Patch, and Orchestra. Hind Al Gazal and Sumay Al Hamadi are the only two designers in the event and their collections will be shown on the last day of Kids Fashion Week. The collections will be displayed in two daily shows at 7:30pm and 8:15pm.
Maitha Gobash, Kids Fashion Week Supervisor said, “The inclusion of international brands will elevate the position of Kids Fashion Week in Dubai’s annual fashion calendar and consequently contribute to Dubai’s position as the region’s fashion hub.”
Members of Modhesh Friends Club, the ultimate club for children during summer, will volunteer as models on the ramp during the show. Around 15 children are expected to model throughout the fashion week.
During the week, kids will have the opportunity of learning the rudiments in the areas of accessories and how to make handbags through two workshops to be held daily with the objective of upgrading the skills and talents of the participants.
A number of contests will also be held on the sidelines of these workshops. All shows will be held against a vivid backdrop of enchanting music and lights at the Festival Square of Dubai Festival City mall.
