The AL-M4000 industry-leading print speeds with outstanding quality and advanced functionality to become Epson’s quickest laser printer ever
Epson has announced that it will be adding a new high-specification printer to its popular AcuLaser business printer range. The AcuLaser M4000 series is capable of delivering up to 43 pages per minute, even at full 1200 dpi resolution, with a first page out time of 8.3 seconds. As Epson’s highest specification mono laser printer, the AL-M4000 delivers optimum time efficiency for businesses, combined with a capacity for heavy-duty printing.
Alongside the standard model, there is a M4000DN duplex version and a M4000DTN duplex version, which incorporates an additional paper cassette. Significantly, when printing in duplex, the pace and quality of printouts remains exactly the same as when printing single sided pages, reducing paper consumption without impacting on efficiency.
The addition of a second paper tray increases capacity from the standard 700 sheets – 550 sheets in the main tray and a 150 sheet MP tray – to 2,500 sheets. All models of the AL-M4000 series also support an optional document stacker to sort and separate different jobs; another benefit for busy offices.
The AL-M4000 is highly reliable and offers a print yield of up to 20,000 pages. This means cartridges have to be replaced less frequently, reducing usage costs to a minimum and simplifying maintenance. Ease of use is further enhanced thanks to the AL-M4000’s large LCD display, which provides users with graphical instructions on carrying out routine maintenance work and a bookmark function for easy access to frequently used menu functions.
Other additional features include space for RAM expansion from the standard 64MB to 576MB, which benefits businesses that want to print larger and more complex documents. Through an optional hardware plug-in on the TypeB port, the EpsonNet Authentication Print system can also be enabled. This helps keep documents secure by requiring users to swipe a card at the print station before print-outs are released.
The AL-M4000 uses genuine Adobe PostScript 3tmemulation to ensure accuracy, and also provides support for PCL6, PCL5e, PDF 1.3 and ESC/Page as standard. Connectivity options include standard Ethernet, high-speed USB 2.0, parallel interface and optional Type B interface.
Khalil El Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said, “With the AL-M4000, business users will know that when they send a job to print, it will be completed in a short space of time, to a high-quality, regardless of document size or complexity – this was the primary driver behind our development of the AL-M4000.”
