- Coming as part of its CSR initiative, Dubai Chamber’s programme will equip trainees with hands-on skills of working in a large organisation
As part of its ongoing effort in developing national human resources, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry is hosting a six-week summer training programme from June 29 to August 7 for a group of 28 students, 14 each from various Dubai schools and colleges.
The summer training programme, organized by the Human Resources Department of Dubai Chamber, is very practical and will equip the interns with hands-on skills of working in a large organization as they get acquainted in the areas of customer care and hone their skills in communication and interviewing, English language, presentations, self-motivation and basic IT. At the conclusion of the programme, the interns will get a stipend as well as Completion Certificates from Knowledge Horizon, Dubai Chamber and International Certification from Institute of Leadership & Management in UK.
HE Eng Hamad Mubarak Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, underlined the Chamber’s interest in developing locals’ skills and providing the national students an ideal working environment to spend the summer period fruitfully. “As part of our corporate social responsibility, Dubai Chamber was earlier concentrating on offering scholarships to UAE students, now we have this summer training programme that aims to prepare high school and college students to start their careers with a good understanding of working in a large organization covering areas such as public relations, self development, language skills and computer literacy,” he said adding, “This initial training will help them chart out and decide on their future vocations
and give them a firm footing while entering working life.”
Majid Belselah, Resourcing and Development Manager, Dubai Chamber, who is organising the summer training programme informed that the participating students will also embark on two field trips to different private organizations during the training programme. “The idea behind these visits is to provide the trainees with firsthand experience of the working atmosphere in the private sector and to acquaint them with the job opportunities available in that sector as well as to encourage them to take up jobs there in the future,” he said.
On its part, Dubai Chamber launches a number of initiatives and programs from time to time so as to activate the Emiratisation process, attract outstanding and well-qualified nationals and upgrade the national employees’ skills and performance.
