Min Bladi Al Emarat, a DSS 2008 Signature Event and one among the main highlights of this summer, was inaugurated on July 24 in the China Court of Ibn Battuta Mall, a key sponsor of the summer extravaganza. Her Excellency Dr. Mariam Mohammed Matar, Director General of Dubai Community Development Authority was the guest of honour at the opening.

HE Dr Mariam was accompanied by Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Shopping Festival, Yousif Mubarak, COO of the DSF Office, and a host of officials and dignitaries.

Laila Suhail said, “Min Bladi Al Emarat is popular not only as a heritage event but one that has contributed to the understanding of UAE and its traditions. Our aim is to make it possible for visitors and tourists to have an insight into the culture of this country and enable young Emaratis to relate to their identity.”

As part of competitions during the event, the Best Perfume contest was held on July 24 and the three winners were awarded gift vouchers in addition to cash prizes. The winners were honoured by HE Dr. Mariam and Laila Suhail.
