The sixth Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) mega weekly raffle held at Al Khaleej Centre witnessed about fifteen children entering the stage in an impromptu display of excitement. Dancing with live mascots that represented elephants, penguins, frogs and clowns, the children participated in the stage show and danced for more than ten minutes. “It was not part of any plan. It just happened. One child entered the performance arena and rest of them joined in. This is the true spirit of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS),” remarked Hanan Kamal, Leasing & Marketing Manager cum Spokesperson, Al Khaleej Centre.
Immediately after a sensational performance by the young audience, the winners of the DSMG weekly raffle draw were announced. Kazi Rahat Ali from Pakistan, Rushell Kezar and Saira Jacob from India, Alden Bakija from Bosnia and Noora Khalifa Hassan from Bahrain comprised this week’s lucky winners. Each of them won a cash prize of AED 100,000/-.
One of the winners of the raffle draw, eleven year old Alden Bakija was vacationing at Maldives when the news was relayed to him. His father, a physiotherapist residing in Dubai for the last fifteen years, expressed his delight and said that the prize would be invested in his son’s name.
“Saira Jacob has won the raffle in absentia. Her husband who was here for three days did some shopping and filled the coupon in her name. They are naturally thrilled and amazed that spending small amounts can lead to such huge winnings,” said Shering, brother in law of the DSMG raffle winner. “Shopping in Dubai has proved lucky for my sister in law.” Saira Jacob is a non resident Indian based in New York.
In this edition of DSMG promotion, cash prizes of AED 3 million have been disbursed to thirty shoppers from fifteen different nationalities. Three more raffle draws will be conducted in this series of DSS with opportunity for another fifteen shoppers to win AED 100,000 each.
Congratulating the winners, Ms. Hanan Kamal, Leasing & Marketing Manager cum Spokesperson, Al Khaleej Centre said, “We have been a Support Sponsor of DSS over the years, and it’s our privilege to hold the 6th DSS Raffle Draw here at Al Khaleej Shopping Centre. We invite visitors to shop, dine and spend time in our mall as we have all-round outlets that suit everyday needs.” She also promised to keep visitors entertained with exciting programmes, events and stage shows till the completion of DSS 2008 in August 22.
“Fun, surprises, shopping and magic are the key themes that we emphasized while scripting the stage show. As the promotion progressed we kept on introducing new characters and new mascots to highlight the element of surprise. It is the spirit of the season that our show captures,” said Richard Manson, Entertainment Manager of Flying Elephant, the event consultancy who organized the stage show. “Next week there will be a special surprise in store for visitors who come to see the live raffle,” he promises.
Presented by Huda Hamdan, the raffle draw and the accompanying stage show can be viewed in the program AL Seif w AL Nas on Sama Dubai TV every Friday at 7:00 p.m. with the repeat telecast on Saturday, 9:00 a.m.
The next weekly raffle draw will be held on August 7th at Mercato Mall.
