Buffalo Technology has announced the availability of its first portable silicon disk with SSD technology in the Middle East. The USB attached MicroStation (SHD-UHRXXGS) is capable of storing up to 100GB of data and offers the latest in storage technology within a compact (57 x 14 x 89mm) and lightweight (56-60g) chassis.
The MicroStation has no motors or moving parts which, combined with its portability and lightweight, shock-resistant chassis, minimises the risk of damage to data and provides protection against drops or shocks.
The SSD technology also minimises power consumption, making the device ideal for laptop users to avoid draining their battery. When used with BuffaloCs proprietary TurboUSB technology, data transfer rates of up to 35MB/s are achievable.
"Increased performance, reliability and power savings are all key demands in the portable storage market," comments Kevin Vine, EMEA Sales and Marketing Director at Buffalo Technology. "SSD technology is able to meet these requirements and, with this newest addition to our extensive storage range, Buffalo is now able to offer customers the latest in storage technology within a portable device."
Other key features and benefits include:
· Wrap around cable for neat and easy storage.
· Powered by USB 2.0/1.1 so no need for external power supply.
· Memeo AutoBackup Software for improved backup options, including regular system backup and password protection.
· BuffaloCs exclusive Secure Lock Ware Encryption software for Windows.
Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the MicroStation is available now from key retail and business partners across the Middle East at an estimated street price of:
SHD-UHR32GS (32GB) US$ 249.99
SHD-UHR64GS (64GB) US$ 499.99
SHD-UHR100GS (100GB) US$ 749.99
