DNRD issues 223,697 Entry Permits following new visa rules

With 223,697 entry permits issued since the implementation of new visa rules on July 29 till August 24 (Sunday), Major-General Mohammad Ahmad Al Marri, Director of Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), praised the efforts of the employees at the Visa and Entry Permits Department and stressed that such great achievements require highly qualified and professional team members with valuable experience, who can work in accordance with the unprecedented boom in the UAE, especially in Dubai.
“DNRD pays special attention to develop and enhance the qualifications of its employees to get the best results and enable them to offer value-added service to the public” said Major-General Al Marri.
Major-General Al Marri began his annual inspection tour on August 24 (Sunday) by visiting all the sections of the Entry Permits Department, including but not limited to, Online Services, Fees Payment, Accounting, public counters and the Co-ordination and Follow-up Office, where he checked the statistics and achievements of each sector.
The inspection tour also covered a review of various procedures followed by the Entry Permits Department, including the monthly monitoring of performance by the employees. Major-General Al Marri stressed that outstanding employees would be recognized and rewarded accordingly.
Lieutenant-ColonelYousef Al Marri, Assistant Director of Entry Permits and Residence revealed that the total number of Entry Permits issued by DNRD headquarter at its Jaffiliya Centre since July 29 till Sunday has reached 223,697. He also pointed to the popularity of DNRD’s on-line services which are operational 24/7.
Answering a question about humanitarian cases, Major Mohammed Al Hammadi, Manager of Entry Permits Department, said that DNRD accepted 524 cases out of 2,623 requests submitted from the beginning of May till mid-August.
At the end of his inspection tour, Major-General Al Marri called for a weekly meeting to be held with employees of typing centres to recap on the requirements of the new visa regulations.
