- Flexible Fashion Courses and Workshops
Those with a flair for fashion, a passion for the best but a demanding schedule, can still study to achieve their dream in Dubai with French Fashion University Esmod. The internationally acclaimed French fashion institution, announced the beginning of its 2008/2009 academic year in September with new programs and short term courses designed to enable all those with a desire to learn about fashion the opportunity to do so.
Certified by the French Ministry of Education in Paris France and KHDA (The Knowledge and Human Development Authority) in Dubai, the university offers undergraduate & postgraduate courses including a B.A. degree in Fashion Design & Pattern Drafting, a Trend Forecasting Masters class and Merchandising Training for retailers and individuals.
Esmod is also adding a new "Ladies Life" program with both morning and evening workshops for those with limited time available for full-time study.
The innovative university has made a name for itself in Dubai through its association with such events as the annual Kings, Queens and Divas production at Madinet Jumeira in June, Dubai Fashion week and other events associated with both the arts and cinema. These allow opportunities for students to actively apply their study in creative and exciting forums utilising all aspects of fashion from couture to accessories and fantasy.
"The university offers real life experience through a selected team of instructors,” says Tamara Hostal, Director of Esmod. “They don’t just teach students, but add an entirely new dimension to their lifestyle through interactive methodologies that give a greater understanding of the technicalities of design & garment making."
Esmod has been a leading name in the international fashion industry for more than 160 years and has influenced French fashion throughout the world. As the only fashion University in the Middle East, it places a great deal of importance on the regular expansion of their fashion programs to stay at the top of new trends and influences. Courses are carefully selected to reflect high-growth areas in the fashion industry providing students with optimum career prospects after graduation.
Esmod was established in 2006 in Dubai Academic City and to date as seen more than 100 students graduate. Many have found jobs in the fashion industry locally in fashion retail, fashion design, marketing and branding, etc while others have carried their training abroad to follow their dreams in Paris, Rome, New York and many places around worldwide.
In order to achieve both the personal attention required for such a creative activity and the high graduate level desired both by the standards of Esmod and the students themselves, who know they will be recognized as some of the best qualified in their field.
