OXFORD BUSINESS GROUP APPOINTS MICHELLE SOLOMON AS ABU DHABI DIRECTOR
|
Oxford Business Group (OBG), the highly acclaimed global publishing, research and consultancy firm, has appointed Michelle Solomon - an executive with a vast experience in Gulf country intelligence - as its Abu Dhabi Country Director.
Solomon was responsible for OBG’s expansion to Abu Dhabi and acted as the first OBG Country Director for Abu Dhabi in 2005. During her earlier tenure in Abu Dhabi, she oversaw and directed the group’s activities and publications on the country, established a network of research contacts, and forged partnerships with government bodies and multi-national companies.
Solomon, who recently led the OBG team in Saudi Arabia as Country Director for two years, will oversee all aspects of OBG’s upcoming The Report: Abu Dhabi 2009, which will provide a wide ranging and in depth analysis of the political and business landscape, and is considered the leading publication covering foreign direct investment in the emirate.
Solomon, who also brings with her a wide experience of reporting on international business, said: “I am delighted to be facing the challenge of expanding our country coverage of Abu Dhabi as the emirate moves into a remarkable time of change and diversification.
This is a time when major corporations from all over the world are flocking to establish themselves in Abu Dhabi, or are seeking to expand their investments.
It is a fascinating epoch for the emirate, and I am truly delighted to have the opportunity to return now, and continue the expansion of our coverage here.”
Solomon’s strong background in international business was honed in economic reporting in conjunction with governments around the world. Later she developed her extensive experience and sector knowledge in the Middle East, where she worked as an emerging markets business commentator for two years.
She joined OBG’s Gulf division in 2004 and developed the company’s presence in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain. During this time, she regularly appeared on regional television and in the print media.
Elizabeth Boissevain, OBG’s Director of Field Operations, said: “With her in-depth knowledge of the Gulf and the Middle East, Michelle has the requisite
experience and skills to bring a dynamic and well-rounded approach to her new role as Country Director in Abu Dhabi.”
Available in print form or on line, The Report: Abu Dhabi 2009 is part of the range of OBG’s publications, which are renowned as leading sources of information on developing and emerging economies around the world.
