The world’s largest association for human resource management will hold its noted seminar, “HR Metrics: Driving HR Success,” in the Middle East for the first time in October 2008.
The presentation by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will be offered in Manama, Bahrain, Oct. 8-9, at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 12-13, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
“The Middle East — and particularly the Gulf region — is a vibrant business arena, and HR professionals are integral to keeping industry moving,” said Brian J. Glade, SPHR, GPHR, vice president of international programs at SHRM. “With its emphasis on human capital analytics, the ‘HR Metrics’ seminar is designed to fill a crucial gap in the training and experience of HR professionals around the world. By knowing how to benchmark and measure HR initiatives, HR professionals can link their work to larger strategic and operational goals, showing their importance to the organization at large.”
The seminar provides human resource and business professionals with a foundation in methods to quantitatively measure the role of HR and human capital programs in organizations, demonstrating HR’s ties to an organization’s bottom line.
Topics covered in the seminar include:
· Planning an HR analytics initiative.
Steve McElfresh, Ph.D., SPHR, principal and founder of HR Futures®, will teach the seminar. Dr. McElfresh was a charter member of the SHRM national panel for Human Capital Measurement and HR Metrics. A frequent speaker and writer, he holds a Ph.D. in organizational psychology from Boston College and a J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law.
“We are delighted to assist Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in bringing in internationally recognized programmes to Middle East and provide the right learning platform for HR professionals in the region.” Ajay Bhojwani, Director – Project, MCI Middle East.
