- UAE and Saudi Arabia experience steady YoY growth
Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ presence in the region’s desktop and notebook market continued to grow in Q208 reporting impressive percent year–on-year growth, according to the analyst group IDC.
The company continued to be a dominant force in the region’s desktop market registering remarkable growth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates where 241.3 percent YoY growth was reported despite a 10.9 percent market contraction. The results in Saudi Arabia were similarly striking reporting 483.9 percent YoY growth, while the market grew at mere 1.1 percent. The company ranked among the top five desktop vendors in several ME countries during the second quarter, as indicated in the IDC reports.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers also continued to distinguish itself in the regional notebook market as indicated by above-market growth in both the KSA and the UAE. This included an impressive 116.6 percent growth in the notebook segment thanks to industry-leading mobile technology and competitive pricing. The segment recently announced the launch of new product lines this summer for its consumer notebooks- AMILO - and professional notebooks -LIFEBOOK and ESPRIMO Mobile .
“Q2 has been a busy and exciting period for Fujitsu Siemens Computers in the Middle East, as we have continued to introduce innovative professional notebook lines and engage with new regional partners to increase our reach in the small and medium-sized segment,” said Stephane Rejasse, Managing Director – Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Q2 also marks the beginning of a new consumer strategy which will help to increase brand visibility in the region using a uniform design language, as well as emphasize research and development that is guided by consumer feedback to further improve our product and service offering.”
“The region is a significant market for Fujitsu Siemens Computers where rapid integration of the latest mobile technologies is required to keep pace with the increasing demands of business professionals,” added Rejasse. “We expect persistent growth in the market as we continue to distinguish our products in the region and provide leadership in customer service by expanding our successful service initiatives such as Service Express allowing more consumers in the region to have their computers serviced without needing to leave the comfort of their home.”
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has grown 22.1 percent in the Middle East ranking among the region’s top desktop and notebook vendors by IDC for Q208.
