- New Generation Intelligent Ergonomic Office Chairs Now Available in UAE
Workplace injuries are estimated to cost more than AED 6.5 Billion, according to a recent study.
One of the top ten factors for employees taking time off work due to ill health is poorly-designed office furniture, but now the latest ergonomic technology is available in the UAE to help reduce the problems.
The UK-based research notes that the largest cost to employers is made up of sick pay and the compensation and insurance costs.
For many years top executives have been able to buy the most expensive office seating for themselves which are comfortable and ergonomically designed, but economic considerations have made it difficult to provide a similar level for every employee. But now, the new range from Dauphin – the human design company – provides comfortable seating at a cost-effective price.
The new Bionic range – available exclusively at OFIS, a division of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group – provides ergonomic-design at the very highest level. The upper part of the chair can be adjusted to within a range of more than 125 degrees, while the seat-depth can be locked into six different positions.
“Ergonomic-design and comfort is no longer the preserve of the high powered executive,” said Mr. Ajai Dayal, General Manager – Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group. “The Bionic chair from Dauphin allows a company in the UAE can fully-furnish the office with safe and comfortable work furniture for the first time.”
The seat and backrest of the Bionic chair automatically follow the movements of the person sitting with a simultaneous movement process. The backrest automatically adjusts to the user’s particular body weight and can also be individually finely adjusted.
“We set out to create a chair that suits human beings more closely,” said Malte Lenkeit, Ergonomics Consultant at Dauphin. “Workers who spend a lot of time sitting down can do serious long term damage to their backs.”
“It became vital to provide a solution which incorporated all of the latest scientific ergonomic features. The chair has proven very popular with employers throughout the region,” he added.
The Bionic chair from Dauphin comes in six different designs and a variety of colours, all complete with ergonomic design features.
OFIS is the only UAE supplier of major international brands including Aresline, Ergo, INTERFACE, Benel, DVO, Zuco, and Bosse.
OFIS supplies many major companies across the Middle East, including Norr Group, Burthill, KCA, WA International, Design Design, Broadway Interiors, Holford Asso, RMJM, BSBG, City Space, HSBC, Mashreq Bank, Citi Bank, Union National Bank, Shell, Unilever, DHL and Dubai Airport.
