A secure connection for roaming users: Mobile IT Networks
|
An increasing number of companies rely on the Virtual Private Network (VPN) over broadband links to join their sites, and use of this network involves roaming employees who connect to their e-mail or business applications via secure tunnel. Yet using a common infrastructure implies a high level of security which is not necessarily compatible with performance. Thanks to its Mobile IT Networks solution, CityPassenger can meet the most exacting security requirements whilst preserving a high level of performance, whatever the type of link. See it at GITEX in Dubai, next October 19 to 23.
Mobile IT Networks actually behaves as a VPN server able to process a very large number of customers. To guarantee maximum security, this Mobile IT Networks server enjoys a number of functionalities, including:
• 1024-bit SSL encrypted certificate processing
• Http, Https proxy
• User access control combined with LDAP, active directory and radius directories.
• Web and e-mail antivirus
• An anti-spam tool
• ADSL Broadband 2+ with integrated firewall for protection
• IDS intrusion detection on ADSL Broadband 2+
• Kerberos ticketing server, activating an encrypted tunnel as of the first connection
Mobile IT Networks thus enables roaming users to connect securely to the company network and to access application servers as if they were at the office. This can also be done securely for companies thanks to permanent bandwidth monitoring and quality control. In addition, the system facilitates applying company security policy to roaming employees through the handling of white lists or black lists for Internet connections. Precise time stamping makes it possible to track all user requests (who, where, when, how long, etc.) A login archive is also integrated to the server.
To ensure optimal performance compatible with the high level of security, the Mobile IT Networks solution includes a hardware encryption booster, a protocol optimisation process (cross-layer) and Web and VPN accelerators. Indeed, the Mobile IT Networks solution optimises TCP and http flow while reducing latency, thus increasing Web application scalability. Among other advantages, integrating an Apache server within Mobile IT Networks lets one host websites and an e-mail server.
The Microsoft domain controller allows peripherals routing. Purchasing licenses becomes redundant when replacing a WIN 2003 server with this device. Lastly, the simple and user-friendly administration may be performed on a basic web console.
CityPassenger is a company that specialises in management of data flow over telecom. Its published products are smart optimisation software for data flow over telecom between all terminal types and Intranet content. Improving the performance of resources used by roaming personnel is one of its priorities.
