Dubai Towers-Doha Setto Achieve LEED Certification in Qatar
|
Sama Dubai, the international real estate investment and development arm of Dubai Holding, today announced Dubai Towers - Doha will be one of Qatar’s first buildings that will be designed to achieve the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
Complying with the guidelines of the LEED Green Building Rating System, to provide a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction, the Dubai Towers - Doha will offer improved air and water quality for reducing solid waste. The development’s strategy to significantly mitigate environmental impacts, in addition to offering a range of economic and occupant benefits, will phenomenally benefit the owners, residents and the community as a whole.
Located at the new business district in Doha, the Dubai Towers - Doha will rise 84 floors above the Corniche, offering inspiring views of the West Bay area to its residents.
Farhan Faraidooni, Executive Chairman of Sama Dubai, said: “In its commitment to creating environment-friendly buildings, Sama Dubai focuses on adopting the latest available technology. Such state-of-the-art green techniques help the company effect substantial reduction in water and energy needs, while minimising waste and pollution. The Dubai Towers-Doha is a stellar example of this technique.
“As a progressive company, with current investments in billions of dollars and a footprint that stretches across the Middle East, Sama Dubai develops and invests in real estate around the globe and is committed to highlighting Dubai’s evolutionary real estate achievements.”
LEED certified buildings use key resources more efficiently when compared to conventional buildings. They also offer healthier work and living environments, contributing to higher productivity and improved employee health and comfort.
“With its striking design, the Dubai Towers-Doha will not only integrate the highest standards in technological capability that meet modern-day business and leisure needs, but will also be a fitting testimony to latest eco-friendly concepts,” he added.
In line with the Dubai Government’s growth strategy, Sama Dubai is successfully implementing various projects in Dubai and throughout the region. The company’s key strengths lie in recognising markets with strong growth potential, and identifying and securing prime locations, while laying adequate emphasis on safeguarding the environment.
