Over 1,200 participants attend the groundbreaking Dubai Congress on Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine
In a further boost to the UAE’s ambitious healthcare goals, the inaugural Dubai Congress on Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine (DCAAAM), held in November, was hailed as a massive success by delegates, speakers and exhibitors alike.
Supported by the Ministry of Health UAE and the Department of Health and Medical Services, this American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) event attracted more than 1,200 healthcare professionals from over 50 countries. The three-day congress encompassed a conference, a series of workshops, live demonstrations and an exhibition. There was a comprehensive range of subjects that covered preventive medicine, genetics, aesthetic and cosmetic surgery.
Commented Dr Ali Mohamed, Chairman of the Arabian Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine: “As the first congress of its kind in Dubai, we were delighted by the response and the massive levels of interest in this emerging healthcare sector.”
More than 50 internationally renowned medical experts presented at the event. Highlights included Dr Stanislas R Burzynski who delivered a seminar on the Practical Application of Gene Silencing Theory of Aging; Dr Ali Mohamed and The World''s First BIHRT Baby Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy; Dr Howard Fisher on The Threat of Cell Phones and Mobile Communications and Dr Maria Khattar on Skin Rejuvenation with Autologous Rich Plasma.
One of the most successful presentations at the event was the Medical Spa Operations Workshop, which was a sell-out. "Manon Pilon and I had standing room only in Dubai. The feedback from the attendees was very positive,” said Bryan Durocher, co-host of the workshop.
Speaker Dr Maria Khattar from Aesthetica Clinic, Dubai, said: "I felt that the DCAAAM congress was a great success and I am pleased that this much needed event, focusing on anti-aging science and aesthetic medicine, has been initiated in Dubai. The first congress was professionally organised and the quality of speakers was of international standard.”
"The Dubai conference was world class with excellent speakers and quality delegates,” added speaker Bill Anton. “I was very impressed and I feel it will but only grow from here on. The most pleasing sight was the large number of dermatology and cosmetic surgery exhibits there."
Feedback from the delegates was just as enthusiastic. Said Dr Buthainah Al-Shunnar, Al Shunnar Plastic Surgery, Dubai: "I was very happy with the content of the conference and everything was well organised.”
From the exhibitors, Lamia Hoteit from Dubai-based Kalium Group said “Being part of the Congress enabled us to consolidate our relationships with our clients, as well as forming relationships with doctors new to the field. DCAAAM was a great experience and we look forward to participating in it next year.”
Dr Zina Karim from Pharmapal added: “The conference was concrete, effective, well balanced, with a high quality of subjects and speakers. We believe that the excellent management and capable and helpful staff made a major contribution to the success of the conference.”
Dates for the 2009 Dubai Congress on Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine have already been confirmed as November 7-9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. For further information, contact Marketing and Conference Manager Solenne Singer on +44 (0) 20 8846 2763, email ssinger@tarsus.co.uk.
