Airbus Middle East has signed a two-year contract to provide administration and business centre services as well as storage and handling services to Parker Hannifin Customer Support Inc. Parker Hannifin Corporation is the world leader in motion-control components and systems for a wide range of aerospace and industrial markets.
Parker Aerospace is an operating segment of Parker Hannifin Corporation. Parker Aerospace designs, manufactures, and services hydraulic, fuel, flight control, pneumatic, electronics cooling, and fluid conveyance components and systems, and related electronic controls for aerospace and other high-technology markets.
“The Middle East is one of the economic and cultural hubs of the world and continues to grow as such,” said Fergus Lopez, Parker Aerospace Director of Customer Support for Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. “Parker is dedicated to providing our customers with premiere service and realizes the importance of investing in operations in this region. We have had designated key account managers in this area for many years and are committed to expand our operations as required, to support the operators based here.
“What’s more, we are a proud Airbus supplier and are delighted to share a support centre in Dubai with this important customer.”
Joerg Helmerichs, Senior Director of the Airbus Material and Logistics Centre, said the signing of the contract marks the beginning of a long-term commercial relationship between the two companies. “We are proud of the confidence displayed by Parker Hannifin in joining our Vendor Village, a partnership that reinforces Airbus’ commitment to serve the airline industry in the Middle East,” he added.
The Airbus Material and Logistics Centre at the Dubai Airport Free Zone opened in April 2008 has given Airbus closer access to airlines customers and created a quicker response to their needs. Covering more than 3,700 square metres of floor area, the centre operates 24 hour a day, stocking more than 5,000 parts and 43,000 items at any one time for distribution to regional and worldwide destinations.
Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer with the most modern and comprehensive family of airliners on the market, ranging in capacity from 100 to more than 500 seats. Over 8,700 Airbus aircraft have been sold to more than 290 customers worldwide and more than 5,000 of these have been delivered since the company first entered the market in the early seventies. Airbus is an EADS company.
