Amwal AlKhaleej, a leading regional private equity firm, recently welcomed an MBA Student trek from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world’s leading business schools, and offered its insight into the private equity industry in the MENA region, highlighting industry trends and opportunities for growth.
Mr. Samer Sarraf, Senior Vice President at Amwal AlKhaleej stated that “We are very pleased to receive Wharton MBA students and share with them our insights into the private equity industry in the MENA region. As a leading private equity firm with strong indigenous roots in the region and a top-class professional team, we recognise and support the talent of Wharton MBA students”. In a presentation to the students Mr. Sarraf noted that despite current turmoil in global markets the region’s private equity market remains well positioned for growth driven by sound fundamentals especially in the medium to long term.
Mr. Piyush Singhvi, the trek leader, and a Wharton MBA 2010 Candidate, commented on the interaction: “In today’s ever-changing economic environment practical knowledge and insight into real-world business conditions are keys to success. This is why we are so pleased to have the opportunity to engage with one of the leading private equity firms of the Middle East. Amwal AlKhaleej’s insights into private equity in the region have been hugely beneficial to all of us on the trek in understanding how the industry in the region has evolved. Wharton prides itself on the highest standards of intellectual rigour and I am confident that this interaction with Amwal AlKhaleej contributes to Wharton’s commitment to academic excellence and its deepening relationship with the region.”
