Ruwad Establishment organized a training workshop for 25 UAE national young entrepreneurs, last Thursday, on “How to start a small or medium enterprise (SME)”.
The two-day workshop included a number of expository and practical lectures on the most important aspects of the selection and establishment processes of an enterprise, and the key guidelines for successful project planning.
Mr Khaled Makled, Business Development Manager at Ruwad, who presented the lectures, said that most of the attendees were employees of various government departments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), adding that they already have their own regular incomes, but want to increase their income and have the ambition to run their own business.
The young entrepreneurs were instructed on the effective ways to monitor and analyze the strengths for each project, and to identify weaknesses, allowing them to maximize the strengths and address the weaknesses so as to improve productivity and returns.
This initiative falls under the framework of Ruwad’s visionary strategy that sees the continuous development of programmes designed to enable UAE nationals to effectively run SMEs.
Ruwad Establishment was founded in 2005 by virtue of Emiri decree No.2, issued by H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The objective of the Establishment is to fund and support the UAE national-owned SMEs, and to create the ideal environment for such projects through funding, infrastructure support, training and offering nurturing business incubators.
