Sri Lanka Business Council appoints new president and executive committee members.

The Sri Lanka Business Council (SLBC) of Dubai today announced the appointment of a new president and executive committee members to spearhead their new initiatives for 2009.
Farook Kassim, a successful businessman with over 30 years of experience in international commerce, is the council’s new President. Devanand Mahadeva has taken over as Treasurer; and Wasantha Senanayake, Janaka Palapathwala, Upali Kahandawa, M. Mahendran, Mohamed Giado and Shiran Perera as new Committee members.
“I am truly honored by this appointment, and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the other new appointees. I am confident that our new initiatives for 2009 can further boost trading activities between Sri Lanka and UAE even during difficult times like this,” said Farook, President, Sri Lanka Business Council. Farook also heads the Dubai Food Group and al bogari Holdings, an international trading and investment firm.

Established in 1992, Sri Lanka Business Council (SLBC) is a non-profit organization, accredited by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The council’s main objective is to foster and develop business relations between the UAE and Sri Lanka.
