The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and the municipalities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi showcase their recent projects and services this week during their participation as an associate sponsor at “Cityscape Abu Dhabi - 2009”, which is being held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibitions Center between April 19th and 22nd, 2009. 
 
The municipalities’ participation comes inline with their role as the specialized regulatory body that oversees, centralizes and services the real estate and property sector within the Emirate. The unified municipal booth, F20 in Hall 4, at cityscape will encompass projects and services offered by the Department of Municipal Affairs and the three municipalities.
 
DMA will primarily focus on presenting the ICC building codes and displaying its electronic Land Management System (eLMS) project, a grand scale project that will involve implementing the eLMS with document archival system. The eLMS project will encompass a wider cross-government integration, alignment with the developing electronic document management systems, a web based online capacity to conduct transactions and on-line electronic payment capacity.  Additionally, it will involve GIS integration to fit into proposed GIS Data Framework and spatial cleansing tasking and unifying real estate naming conventions and site plans titles. This eLMS project will provide an invaluable tool in integrating business processes and systems across the three municipalities, facilitate all the services related to land registration, and will provide confidentiality and efficiency for all transactions and be able to provide and maintain accurate databases. 
 
Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) will be exhibiting the “Al Salam Street” project, one of the capital''s busiest streets that is being upgraded to an urban expressway at a cost of Dhs 5 billion and scheduled to be completed by 2010. ADM will also showcase an array of the municipality’s projects including: the new Electronic Construction Permits System, Al Mafraq Bridge, and the Mohammd bin zayed city development which upon completion will represent a gross built area of approximately five million square meters with related infrastructure, landscaping and community amenities to house a population of about 65,000 people.
 
Al Ain municipality will reveal the new development of “Shiebat Al Watah” and “Shiab Al Ashkhar” communities of Al Ain city, while showcasing the upgrading the traffic movement and intersections in central area of Al Ain, Al Jahili Park, the development & beautification of the Municipality Street, and the Spatial Data Conversion of Al Ain Municipality to the international reference system. Additionally Al Ain Municipality will exhibit its renowned Al Ain’s New City Center project.
 
Western Region Municipality will exhibit the TAMM Centers project, a state-of-the-art, one-stop-shop for residents to conduct business with private and government institutions as a central point for residents to carry out  their banking activities, pay utility bills and access essential government services including Ministry of Labour, Emirates post, Emirates Identity Authority, and others. WRM will also showcase its Infrastructure Development For Internal highway Network, A modern highway system will connect metropolitan Abu Dhabi with the six principal Al Gharbia towns of Madinat Zayed, Mirfa, Ghayathi, Silaa, Liwa and the Island of Delma. And the Public and residential parks, a number of landscaped parks in each of its six main cities which accommodate sports facilities, recreation areas, and host town fairs and festivities.
 
Furthermore, the Department of Municipal Affairs is sponsoring the prestigious cityscape awards gala dinner which honors exceptional contribution to world architectural culture, invention and imagination, sustainability and respect for people and environmental awareness in the emerging and developed countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
