In the tenth anniversary year of the BMW X5, the world’s leading premium automotive manufacturer welcomes the new X5 Sport Edition to the Middle East region. The new market segment created by BMW through the launch of the original X5 is now internationally recognised as the Sports Activity Vehicle which combines the sporty and luxury attributes of a typical BMW saloon with exceptional off-road driving capabilities.
The BMW X5 Sport Edition takes the evolution of this class a step further by offering a range of features that further enhances the athletic appearance of this Sports Activity Vehicle. Available for the 4.8 and 3.0 engine variants, the Sports Edition delivers a number of M kit features, and high gloss BMW Individual roof rails. As befits a Sport Edition each variant is also fitted with the M body kit sculpting a more aggressive and dynamic profile accentuated by M exterior finishes and 20 inch M light alloy wheels.
Inside the vehicle the M leather steering wheel, sports seats, and burled walnut trim reinforces the sense of competitive performance and driving pleasure. The X5 Sport Edition also comes with an option of a comprehensive BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) warranty package that covers the cost of service, maintenance and repair work for a minimum of 12-months.
The X5 Sport Edition builds upon the foundation created in 1999 when BMW pioneered the Sports Activity Vehicle with the launch of the X5, a model that 10 years later has achieved extensive success on a global and regional level including 19,209 units sold in the Middle East region alone since its launch.
From the very beginning, the key to the success of the BMW X5 lay in its combination of two fascinating qualities which had never been realised in any vehicle previously. The model successfully transferred characteristic BMW driving pleasure into a completely new market segment. For the very first time, the spacious, permanently four-wheel driven BMW X5 combined the driving dynamics of a BMW sedan with supreme mobility away from asphalted road surfaces. Its integral safety body and independent wheel suspension clearly set the BMW X5 apart from conventional off-road vehicles, with the driving stability system DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) which helps stabilise handling even in critical situations ensuring supreme driving qualities both on and off the road.
Dynamic performance and versatility are also expressed in the design of the X5.
