EMC WINS CISCO MULTI-THEATRE PARTNER OF THE YEAR AWARD AT CISCO PARTNER SUMMIT

Dubai, UAE. - June 16, 2009 – EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, announced today that it received Cisco’s ‘Multi-theatre Partner of the Year’ award. Cisco unveiled the Cisco Partner Summit global award winners on June 3 at its annual channel partner conference in Boston.
 
            The objective of the Global Awards is to recognize exemplary channel partners whose behavior Cisco would like other partners to model. Nominations include: innovative practices, applications successes, unique programs, problem solving and sales approaches. All winners are selected by a group of Cisco Worldwide Channels and Theater executives.
 
            EMC and Cisco have been collaborating for years on creating an optimized information infrastructure that combines EMC’s expertise in storing, protecting and managing vast amounts of information with the power of Cisco’s intelligent network and Unified Computing System. This award recognizes EMC’s excellence and commitment in driving programs for the channel community and helping customers cost-effectively take advantage of their industry-leading information technologies to realize the benefits of next-generation virtualized data centers. This includes:
 
·         EMC’s inclusion of Cisco in EMC Velocity² Signature Solutions Centers throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
·         EMC’s collaboration with the Cisco Unified Computing System.
·         EMC’s long term investments to enable customers to transform their data centers by leveraging EMC, Cisco and VMware technologies.
·         Providing opportunities for mutual channel partners around the world to grow their business with EMC and Cisco.
·         EMC’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement that enables EMC to resell the Cisco MDS multilayer switches and Cisco Nexus 5000 platform as part of the EMC Connectrix® family of connectivity products.

            Cisco Partner Summit awards are presented at three levels: regional, theater and global. Cisco Partner Summit global awards reflect a partner’s performance within a specific technology market across several geographic regions.
