Huawei Leads Industry At CommunicAsia 2009
|
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, concluded its participation at CommunicAsia 2009, the global platform set to address current and emerging issues in the ICT and digital convergence landscape, heldin Singapore last week. Huawei launched its new NetEngine V6 400G-platform universal service router, showcased its new smartphones that utilize Android and Windows Mobile operating systems and announced that it shipped over 1.5 million transceivers (TRXs) for its fourth-generation base stations.
“Huawei understands the importance of providing innovative solutions in time for the operators around the world amid an economic turmoil,” said Ihab Ghtaas, Assistant President of Huawei Middle East. “The launch of the cutting edge products demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to provide customer-centric innovations that will help the operators keep their leading position in mobile broadband industry.”
New 400G-Platform Universal Service Router
The router provides capacity of 400Gbps per slot and is fully compatible with all existing NE40E router linecards. It is substantially faster, greener and more intelligent than industry’s similar platforms and it is designed to handle the surging data traffic in the ultra-broadband era and, in particular, the increasing high-definition video streams. Dubbed “NE40E USR”, the enhanced 400G-platform universal service router is a significant upgrade from its predecessor and features the following highlights: faster speed, energy efficient design, more intelligent features ( such as BRAS, GGSN, DPI, SBC, video real-time monitoring and stream cache technologies) and a better experience.
New handsets utilize Android and Windows Mobile operating systems
Equipped with the latest mobile handset technologies, the new Huawei smartphones were being exhibited in advance of their commercial release in the second half of 2009. The Android-powered U8230 smartphone allows users to switch between full and half QWERTY keyboards and to navigate programs easily via a 3.5-inch LCD touch screen. Huawei’s U8230 uses the Google Chrome Internet browser which supports a variety of Google applications such as Google Map, Google Search, Google Talk etc. It is also fitted with a battery which has a capacity of 1500 mAH - the longest battery capacity of any Android-powered handsets currently available.
The C8000, which supports Windows mobile operating software, incorporates a 3-D menu graphic user interface (GUI) and a unique independent display adapter which enables the smooth presentation of video files and DVD-quality pictures on a 2.8 inch touch screen. With optimized power management, the new handset is capable of playing video files continuously for six to eight hours.
Over 1.5 million transceivers (TRXs) for its fourth-generation base stations - more than any other company in the world.
Huawei’s significant milestone was reached nearly a year earlier than expected, demonstrating the enormous demand for innovative next-generation wireless network solutions. Huawei’s unique SingleRAN solution enables operators to achieve full convergence of multi-mode wireless networks, including base stations, base station controllers, sites and operation and maintenance management. As a core component of its SingleRAN solution, the fourth-generation BTS supports multi-mode radio access networking (GSM, TD-SCDMA, UMTS, LTE, CDMA and WiMAX), and incorporates green optimization and All-IP technologies, providing a truly convergent solution for network operators.Huawei’s fourth-generation BTS are being used by more than 20 leading operators in 100 countries.
