Dubai Properties Group Launches Summer Challenge in Association with The City Hospital
|
- Initiative Aimed at Improving Productivity, Employee Well-Being and Health
Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, today announced the launch of Summer Challenge, a healthy lifestyle campaign for its employees in collaboration with The City Hospital, the first multi-disciplinary hospital at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).
Starting on 21 June, the DPG Summer Challenge will offer complimentary weight monitoring and health checks. It will also host expert-led sessions on nutrition, fitness and healthy habits. The Challenge that will bring about 50 participants to compete in the eight-week campaign will award winning participants with exciting prizes including memberships and valuable vouchers from Fitness First and Healthy Ways.
Fareda Abdullah, Executive Director of Human Capital at Dubai Properties Group, said: “The Summer Challenge was launched by Dubai Properties Group as part of our scheme to encourage healthy work habits within the organization. We aim to inspire our employees to lead a wholesome lifestyle with adequate workouts and proper diets. It is a proven fact that a healthy lifestyle leads to productivity at work, self confidence and esteem.
“The eight-week programme will be closely supervised by health specialists from The City Hospital and wellness experts from DPG. This is to make sure that the entire initiative is conducted in a safe manner with the guidance of trainers and consultants. Effectively, we will help our employees plan a healthy diet and exercise routine, even while achieving our ambition of developing a more productive team.”
As part of their weekly visit, The City Hospital will conduct physical tests to monitor the weight loss and progress of each participant. This will include blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), respiratory checks and sugar levels. At the same time, dedicated specialists will conduct lectures for the employees while a physical therapist will offer dedicated one-to-one support and counsel.
Dr. Tarek Fathey, Medical Director at The City Hospital, said: “We are happy to support Dubai Properties Group in their quest to encourage healthy lifestyle within the organization. Healthy diets and regular exercises can have a positive short and long term effect on individuals, in addition to curbing various diseases and ailments. I believe that all organizations should take a proactive role in the development of their employees as well as fostering their wellbeing and health.”
The City Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 210-bed multidisciplinary hospital offering world-class preventative, primary, secondary, tertiary and even rehabilitative healthcare and hospitality within a luxury hotel-like atmosphere.
As a property-oriented business operation and a complete solutions provider, Dubai Properties Group places considerable emphasis on delivering top-notch services to clients. Through partnerships with various management and business excellence organisations, DPG continuously endeavours to support activities that promote the professional growth of its employees while supporting the overall development of the real estate sector in the region.
