Al Hanoo Holding has announced that it will sponsor the Khorfakkan Club for the Handicapped’s ‘Summer Activities’ – educational events that aim to put a smile on the faces of those with special needs. As a Silver Sponsor of the activities, Al Hanoo seeks to support people with special needs and enhance their interaction with society.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, Chairman of Al Hanoo Holding, said, "Our company’s commitment to social responsibility is a critical investment. Our responsibilities are more than only economic, we are equally committed to fulfilling duties towards society. Our support for people with special needs is not just a humane and social commitment, but a national goal aimed at empowering such people and encouraging them to contribute towards the development process. We recognize that they are a very important constituent of our society".
Al Shakrah, whose company is developing Al Nujoom Islands on the Hamriya coast in Sharjah, added, “Our company’s major contribution to caring for people with special needs in the UAE has inspired us to share their insights and to lighten the load of parents and institutions. To create an enriching career, we must support our children, especially those with special needs, invest in their dreams, and give them a chance to learn and interact with the society. We are committed not only to the development of infrastructure and the economy, but also to development of society, and the realization of its hopes and dreams".
The Club praised Al Hanoo for its sponsorship of the summer activities and recognized the company’s continuous support of the numerous activities in the UAE, whether in the field of sport, education, social or development. The Khorfakkan Club for the Handicapped is an institution that caters for the needs of handicapped people and aims to prove to society that being handicapped is an ability, and not a disability.
