Dubai Schools Agency (DSA) runs an End of School Year event for Government school heads
|
The Dubai Schools Agency in KHDA organized an “End of school year” Event for all Dubai Government Schools leaders. This marked the final meeting post completion of a series of workshops for Dubai’s government schools Principals. The workshops on School Self-Evaluation and School Development Planning were based on the quality indicators used by Dubai School Inspection Bureau (DSIB).
The meeting was attended by Fatma Al Marri CEO, Dubai School Agency, officials from KHDA’s Administrative Support Unit, and 110 Principals and Deputy Heads from Government Schools across Dubai.
Fatma Al Marri, CEO, Dubai Schools Agency, said, “We must ensure our efforts this year are not wasted as we strive to uplift our education system to higher levels of excellence”. At the same time she pointed to the role of workshops in the promotion of communication and exchange ofexperiences among educators.”
In addition to this, emphasis was laid upon overcoming obstacles faced by the educationalprocess. Fatma Al Marri communicated the need to take advantage of positive energy for the new academic year, and the development of skills acquired at this workshop to be put into practice. “We congratulate all those who made the workshop a success and hope to make this a regular practice,” added Al Marri.
The attendees expressed their desire to have more such workshops organized, which would prove beneficial for the education system in Dubai. “We have greatly benefited from the workshops on School Self-evaluation and School Development Planning, which will enable us to meet the standards required for quality education.
“These workshops have also created a friendly and progressive relationship among school leaders, which would accelerate the reform of the education system as a whole in Dubai” said Khalfan Abdullah, Principal of Al Watan Al Arabi School.
“We have been able to identify goals and develop plans accordingly, in order to achieve our vision of excellence in education” said Nasser Abdullah, Assistant Principal of Al Maaref School.
“The workshop will definitely prove helpful for us to develop constructive plans for the coming year. I look forward to additional workshops in the future, and ones that involve teachers as they are indeed the cornerstone of the educational system” said Jafar Al Fardan Principal of Al Saediah School.
“The importance of this workshop is to enhance communication andthe exchange of experiences between schools, with the aim of reforming the education system as a whole,” said school principal Salem Al Kabi.
The “End of School Year” event witnessed an interactive session between School support consultants and participants, where besides discussions and sharing ideas on what is needed next, certificates of attendance were distributed. At the end of event, Fatma Al Marri honored the principals who retire next year. Al-Marri commended the efforts of the awardees in the field of education and wished them success in their future endeavors.
