RTA's Dubai Taxi inks agreement with Kassab Media
|
Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently signed an agreement with Kassab Media to utilize and rent ad spaces on 2950 Dubai Taxicabs for three years renewable, worth 10 million dirham.
The signing ceremony of the contract was attended by the Acting CEO of DTC Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, and the Executive Director of Kassab Media Ghassan Nadeem Adrah, in addition to several key officials from both parties.
“DTC invited bids for renting ad spaces on its taxi fleet and part of the external boundary of its main offices, where the contract was awarded to Kassab Media whose offer fulfilled the stipulations and requirements sated in the bidding documents. Therefore the company was granted the exclusive right of advertising on the designated vehicles and parts of the surrounding wall of the Head Office of DTC in Muhaisina 4 as provided for in this Agreement.
“According to the contract, Kassab Media will rent the ad space on the body and interior of 2950 taxicabs of DTC fleet solely, i.e. excluding taxis of other companies operating under franchise agreement with the RTA. A place will be set inside Dubai Taxi vehicles for placing ads and promotional leaflets on board, together with provision, installation, operation and maintenance of display monitors & accessories for use in displaying video ads”.
The Acting CEO of DTC concluded: “This contract designates a single body to attend to commercial ads on Dubai Taxi fleet as there is a huge demand for such type of ads from various public and private bodies. This is attributed to the fact that taxis ply all parts of the country and are therefore considered the fastest marketing means to meet the intended objectives of commercial ads”.
For his part the Executive Director of Kassab Media Ghassan Nadeem Adrah expressed his delight with winning this bid and working hand in hand with the RTA in general and Dubai Taxi in particular in a way that reflects confidence in the economy and future of the emirate of Dubai.
“This Agreement reflects our commitment to do what we believe is a duty of national companies to take part in the economic cycle. Our companies have the biggest share of outdoor ads in the UAE, particularly those related to public transport modes. Our group and partners have the exclusive rights of indoor and outdoor ads of Dubai Metro, as well as the rights of advertising on public buses and marine transport services; all of which make Kassab Media a strategic partner of the RTA. By securing this important contract on this effective mode, our group becomes the exclusive holder of ad space selling rights on most transport modes of the RTA.
“The company stands ready to honour its commitments stated in this contract and fully attend to the interests of the RTA, advertisers and the advertising sector. The contract offers an opportunity to utilize the ad space in the interior and bodies of taxis for commercial ads of businessmen, companies and organizations, and meets the requirements & expectations of advertisers and ad agencies. It enhances the compliance of the ad market with all rules and orders regulating the business of ads in the emirate where Kassab has a highly qualified and efficient administrative, marketing and technical staff to manage highly important ad projects in the region.
Adrah concluded: “Ads will be fixed and removed in accordance with a set of instructions to be agreed to with DTC in terms of design and contents of these commercial ads which must comply with the internationally accredited safety and quality standards. Display monitors will be supplied and installed inside these taxis by Kassab, which will also operate, test and maintain these accessories”.
