Ecobility Collaborates with Heroes of the UAE

•  Supplies ILLUME Energy Efficient Bulbs as Part of Initiative to Encourage Energy Conservation

 
Ecobility Energy Solutions, the UAE’s private sector pioneer in sustainability solutions, announced today that it has collaborated with ‘Heroes of the UAE’; an initiative of the Emirates Wildlife Society in association with the World Wide Fund for Nature (EWS-WWF) and the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi. The aim of the initiative is to encourage sustainable living, urging local residents to take direct action at home by installing energy-saving light bulbs as a first step to reducing their own household carbon footprint.
 
Ecobility supplied ILLUME Energy Efficient Bulbs in exclusively designed packaging to ‘Heroes of the UAE’ - which the organizers handed out to visitors of Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi in an effort to help them start reducing their individual electricity consumption.  Each ILLUME Energy Efficient Bulb would, on average, reduce electricity consumption by 470 kilowatt hours (kWh) translating to a savings of Dhs 94 and prevent 260KG of carbon emissions. 
 
Commenting on the collaboration, Wadah Abusin, Director of Operations & Business Development, Ecobility said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with ‘Heroes of the UAE’ on this unique and positively charged project. Our company operates on the genuine belief that the ability to make a significant environmental impact is literally in the hands of the community at large – making this initiative a natural fit.”
 
ILLUME Energy Efficient Bulbs consume one-fifth of the power compared to traditional incandescent bulbs to provide the same light intensity and warm white colour. Moreover, they are designed to last 10 times longer and emit 70 per cent less heat.
