du is sponsoring a new series called ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles,’ featuring an interactive SMS contest that will delight fans across the region with the chance to solve brain-teasing riddles and win amazing cash prizes. Four weekly winners will win AED 15,000 each, and three grand prize winners will receive AED 100,000 for first place, AED 50,000 for second place and AED 25,000 for third place.
To participate in the contest, viewers simply need to watch the episodes on television, solve the riddles, and text their answers to a short-code for the chance to win. Those who miss watching an episode or a riddle on television can visit www.freej.ae to catch up. The new series will be broadcast throughout Ramadan and comprises of 28 brand-new episodes starring the beloved FREEJ animation characters; riddles are presented as part of each episode’s plot.

The first episode of ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles’ was broadcast by Sama Dubai at 8:00 pm and a repeat telecast was done at 1:00 am on the first day of Ramadan. Sama Dubai will continue to broadcast each episode in these time-slots every day for 27 days. Episodes will also be re-telecast every day by Dubai TV at 2:30 am. In addition to this, expat viewers will benefit from an episode with English subtitles on Dubai One at 10:00 pm daily. There will be a total of 28 episodes, each between one and three-and-a-half minutes long, and a total of 27 riddles over the course of the four-week series, with the final two days/episodes repeating all of the riddles. The last two episodes 29 and 30 will summarise all the riddles for the convenience of customers.
In ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles,’ characters Um Saeed, Um Saloom, Um Allawi and Um Khammas find themselves stranded in a magical palace filled with mazes and perplexing riddles. After solving the riddles, mobile subscribers from the GCC can simply send an SMS with their answer. If the answer is correct, the customer will receive ten (10) points; answers can be submitted at any time during the month of Ramadan. No points are awarded for incorrect or invalid answers.
Each week, the four participants who score the highest number of points in the shortest amount of time will win AED 15,000. Winners will be notified with a phone call from a du representative, followed by an SMS. The three participants with the highest overall number of points in the contest will win the grand prize, awarded after Ramadan; the first prize winner will receive AED 100,000, the second-prize winner AED 50,000, and the third-prize winner AED 25,000.
In addition to sponsoring the ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles’ contest across the region, du already offers its valued mobile subscribers the opportunity to enjoy entertaining FREEJ episodes from seasons one, two and three on their du mobile TV by typing ‘Freej’ and sending an SMS to short-code 1155.
