• FOLLOWING A 26 MILLION EURO MAKEOVER HOTEL PRESIDENT WILSON, GENEVA,

 
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announces that Hotel President Wilson, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Geneva, Switzerland has completed a €26 million (CHF 40 million) renovation of its lobby, public areas and guest rooms.
 
The renovation, which started in autumn 2007, gives the iconic Hotel President Wilson a modern new feel and ensures the property is a unique expression of its location. The new design was conceived by acclaimed Swiss architects Atelier d’Architecture 3 BM3 and was inspired by the Hotel President Wilson’s magnificent setting on the banks of Lake Geneva. Using three themes throughout the renovation – water, landscape and light – the elegant new look reaffirms this Luxury Collection Hotel’s position as one of Switzerland’s finest properties.

Each of Hotel President Wilson’s 230 deluxe guest rooms and suites have been sumptuously renovated to provide luxurious accommodation with all the state-of-the art technology that today’s travellers expect. Combining modernity and simplicity, the new elegant design uses muted tones to provide a soft, refined and Zen-like atmosphere. The sophisticated transformation of Hotel President Wilson features the indigenous themes of water, landscape and light in combination with precious materials: Gold and platinum have been used for areas of the flooring, whilst in the public areas crushed white Carrara marble containing Swarovski crystals make the room glitter with dramatic effect, reflecting the hotel’s setting on the sparkling waters of Lake Geneva. Further exquisite finishes to the public areas include a number of specially commissioned works by acclaimed Korean sculptor, Jae-Hyo Lee. Lee uses natural materials to create sculptures that captivate the mind and allow the imagination to have free rein.
 
Dining at Hotel President Wilson is a feast for the senses with the magnificent Alps Mountain Range providing inspiration for the renovated bar and restaurant areas. Glow, the hotel’s contemporary new lounge area, features crystal-encrusted marble flooring and mirrored panels that reflect the natural light and stunning panorama of the lake.  Offering a delicious all-day menu and a DJ four nights a week, Glow is the ideal place to enjoy a light lunch, relax over an aperitif or enjoy an evening with friends.
