- World’s Lightest Notebook Features Optional Eight-Cell Battery Lasting up to 16-Hours
SonyGulf FZE today announced the launch of its latest VAIO X Series, redefining the mobile PC category once again.
Incredibly light, thin and offering long battery life, the VAIO X integrates new wireless connectivity features and reliability, making it an ideal notebook for business persons on the go.
Designed to be the world’s lightest notebook*1 weighing just 655gm, the VAIO X Series is a comfort to carry around. Breathtakingly thin and measuring 13.9 mm – just about the width of a mobile phone, it offers 16 hours of continuous use with the optional eight-cell battery.
Osamu Miura, Managing Director of Sony Gulf, said: “We are pleased to introduce in the Middle East the VAIO X, an extremely portable laptop that blends unique features with high performance components and ultimate reliability. The core design also conforms to new market dynamics and evolving demographic trends, catering to tech-savvy users and business people who are constantly on the go.”
The VAIO X Series is equipped with WWAN*2 to stay connected to high-speed Internet. Featuring a high quality wide 11.1” LCD with 1366 x 768 pixel (VAIO Display Premium, LED backlight), 17mm key pitch isolation keyboard for comfortable typing and a new touch pad with convenient multi-finger gestures like zoom and flick navigation, it also integrates various interfaces such as VGA and LAN port and built-in webcam to enhance the essential piece of usability in business scenes.
The extreme mobility of VAIO X does not affect the performance in any way. The combination of the latest Intel® Atom™ Processor Z550 (2 GHz) (VPCX118LG), solid state drive, and Windows® 7 gives the latest notebook from Sony an edge over other products in offering satisfactory business usage on the go.
Optional accessories include a luxurious slip case in genuine leather and a dramatically styled wireless mouse.
VAIO’s advanced technology also incorporates aesthetic features while securing superb reliability. The groove running along the outer edge of the LCD and palm rest - the Rigid Arc structure - is not just a design but built to minimize distortion from external pressures. In addition, the housing is made out of carbon, while the palm rest is moulded out of a one-piece aluminium plate to further increase the strength.
The notebook has successfully withstood the 150 kgf pressure-vibration test, proving its ability to perform even in tough real-life situations.
The VAIO X series is available in the UAE in select electronics outlets. For more information, call 800-SONY or visit www.sony-mea.com
*1 As of October 8, 2009, among notebook PCs with screen size of 10" or above.
