•  USD 12 billion Gulf clothing market underlines scope for talented fashion designers in the region  

 
Student designers from the French Fashion University Esmod (FFUE) are set to exhibit their latest creations during a special event at the Fashion Lounge, Dubai, on October 21, 2009, from 7 - 10pm. Being held to celebrate the upcoming Dubai Fashion Week, the event will see Esmod students joining several talented designers and artists to exhibit their best work.
 
The event has been designed to not only create a platform for young designers to display their creations on the runway, it also presents an opportunity for them to sell their outfits to the high-profile audience.       
 
“Partnering with Fashion Lounge has given our students an opportunity to display their garments in a new setting, which will be an experience in itself. Since the start of this academic year, our students have been involved in several unique fashion-oriented activities, such as the ‘green fashion’ contest, in line with our aim to broaden their perspective and maximize their opportunities in the world of fashion,” said the Founder and Director of FFUE.
 
According to FFUE, the fact that the Gulf clothing market is worth USD 12 billion, underlines the vast scope for talented fashion designers in the region. In line with this, the University is offering specialized courses that are designed to keep students abreast with latest trends and developments in the global fashion scene.
 
Fashion Lounge, located at the Jumeriah Beach Residence, offers a restaurant, gallery and boutique concept, all rolled into one.
