Festive Feast at Gharana

Members of Dubai International Women’s Club (DIWC) enjoyed a special treat for Diwali at the newly opened Gharana restaurant at Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha. Over 65 ladies from the DIWC got together at the restaurant for a sumptuous luncheon prepared by celebrated Chef Shaukat Ali Qureshi who comes from the legendary Qureshi clan.
Gharana, the beautiful new Indian restaurant was officially inaugurated on October 7th by Indian Consul General Mr. Venu Rajamony. Included in the menu are the most tantalizing treats from the finest cooking traditions of India namely Lucknow, Hyderabad, Punjab and Jaipur.
The ladies seemed totally impressed with the arrangements and thoroughly enjoyed the culinary delights amidst the gorgeous surroundings of the eatery.
Along with the delicious food, the guests were treated to a marvellous selection of Ghazals and Bollywood numbers by young and talented duo Deepa and Sundhanshu.
General Manager of Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha, Mr Reda Moukthar, said: “It’s great to be able to invite the ladies of the DIWC to our new restaurant to celebrate Diwali in worthy surroundings. The DIWC is a very popular club in Dubai, one that is held dearly by its members so we’re extremely happy to have such a close relationship with the club. This event was one of many we’ve held for the DIWC, and we hope the ladies will soon be back for more fun at our property.”
