Amna Saif Al Mansouri - Vice President of Royal Jet’s Human Resources and Corporate Support Department – has won the Leader in Aviation Award at this year’s Women in Leadership Awards.
The Women in Leadership Forum is a partnership between the Dubai Business Women Council and naseba, a global business information company headquartered in Monaco. It is organised under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It aims to help Arab women expand their role in the business world and to motivate women to be productive members of both society and the economy.
Mrs Al Mansouri received her award from Sophie Le Ray, CEO of the naseba Group at a gala dinner, held at the Atlantis Hotel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
Al Mansouri’s business career, which spans over 10 years, was mainly spent in Abu Dhabi’s Department of Civil Aviation - the governing authority for all civil airports in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the forerunner of today’s Abu Dhabi Airports Company, before she joined Royal Jet at its inception six years ago.
In the past year, she has been responsible for a major recruitment drive of UAE nationals as part of Royal Jet’s Emiratisation programme as well as developing a Graduate Trainee Programme. She introduced a better succession planning system across the company, and initiated the use of Employee Satisfaction Surveys to improve transparency to all staff. She was also responsible for the development of a corporate training programme as well as the use of eLearning programmes. Another innovation for which she was responsible is a new intranet system which is designed to save time and streamline processes. Finally, Amna Al Mansouri has encouraged staff at all levels to contribute their own ideas through a rewards system.
Mrs Al Mansouri stressed she would like to emphasize the support that she received from Royal Jet’s Chairman, His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, from the start of her career in the aviation industry. “From the very first day upon my graduation from college, when I joined the civil aviation department, he showed his confidence in my abilities by assigning me different projects on top of my normal duties, and I have no doubt that these helped develop me further and improve my skills under his guidance,” she said.
On congratulating her, Royal Jet’s CEO Shane O’Hare said “This award reaffirms Royal Jet's stature as it continues to set the benchmark across the world for security, safety, an exceptional level of service and of leadership.
“Amna fully deserves the recognition this award affords her. Without the full support of our staff at all levels across the business, we would not be globally recognised as the number one luxury flight charter brand. Amna’s leadership in driving through our personnel policies, which reflect the vision of our Chairman, are integral to gaining the full support of our people. She is a vital link in the success that Royal Jet has undoubtedly earned for itself since our launch over six years ago.” he concluded.
