• Get Fit and Support UNICEF’s Initiatives to Help Street Children in Cairo.

 
 
The 2009 “Road to Awareness” UNICEF project aims to provide social, medical and psychosocial support to 2,000 street children in Greater Cairo and protect them from violence, abuse and risky behaviors.
 
As part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Le Méridien Dubai is bringing the Road to Awareness Fitness Day to town to “Make a Difference”.
 
The Fitness Day will be held at the hotel on Saturday, 14^th November from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Falcon Ballroom. Guests can choose from a range of fitness activities like tae-bo, dance aerobics, yoga, body pump and spinning. The basic registration is for AED 50 to attend one class and receive access to the fitness facilities for the day and AED 20 will be charged for each additional class.
 
Children will be invited to participate in a fun swimming competition that starts at 4 pm by registering for AED 30 per head.
 
An award ceremony will be held at 6.30 pm, where each participant will have the opportunity to win an exclusive prize basket worth AED 1,500, which includes day pass vouchers for Natural Elements Fitness, exercise classes, swimming classes, lunch vouchers, body consultations and personal consultations.
 
Upon registration, each guest will also be entitled to a 20 per cent discount for dinner at Long Yin, Sukhothai or Café Chic. Vouchers from various food and beverage outlets within the hotel will also be auctioned to raise funds.
 
“We feel it is our responsibility to educate the community about charitable causes and there’s no better way of doing just that than by hosting a day of fun and fitness, with proceeds going to the less privileged,” says Stephane Blanc, Executive Assistant Manager, Le Méridien Dubai. “The Road to Awareness Fitness Day is a unique and exciting way to spread word about a cause that will help shape a better future for the generations to come and simultaneously get people involved in personal care and wellbeing through our innovative exercise classes.”
 
The Road to Awareness Fitness Day is being sponsored by Evian, Nestle Cereals, Pocari Sweat, Life Fitness, EAS Gifts, Multipowers and Carrera.
