Dubai- Dubai Customs confirmed its support to national citizens, both graduates and undergraduates, by vowing to offer career opportunities for the distinguished to develop a career with Dubai Customs. In addition, Dubai Customs will offer significant training courses in order to enhance their competencies and further their skills.
On an annual basis The Careers Day is organized by the Higher College of Technology and for the third consecutive year is sponsored by Dubai Customs.
After inaugurating the events of the Careers Day 2009, Mr. Butti Abdulla Al Jumairy, Executive Director of HR, Finance and Admin Division at Dubai Customs said:" Giving attention to the UAE national citizen and achieving the sustainable social development are considered among the corporate values of the Department. From this springboard the Department is keen on participating in the career fairs that take place within the UAE throughout the year. These events which give HR recruiters and job seekers the chance to meet allow students who seek to find jobs to submit their CVs in person and get evaluated from the specialized personnel at the different sectors in the Department.” He also pointed out that Dubai Customs is considered among the most prominent government organizations which support nationalization in the UAE with 80% rate of national employees.
Several government, semi-government and private organizations took part in the Exhibition held on this day. Through their pavilions, these organizations and companies demonstrated the employment opportunities available to which students and graduates can apply.
It’s worth noting, Dubai Customs has sponsored the Careers Day since it commenced three years ago. First, in Nov 2007 then again in Nov 2008 and this year for the third time, all exhibitions were of great success as they were well-received by Emirati graduates who were recruited in different companies and organizations in Dubai.
The Careers Day aims at introducing the UAE national distinguished students to various job vacancies available in different local and international companies and organizations. It also gives students insight into the available career opportunities in the local business market. In addition, students will receive some guidance which will help them choose the career paths which best suit their potentials and ambitions.
Mr. Al Jumairi said:” We strive to provide more support to the UAE youth by helping them find their future career paths and provide them with the most suitable jobs for their qualifications. Taking part in and sponsoring such CSR events by Dubai Customs is a form of giving back to the society which provides us with much support.”
