Dubai Judicial Institute kick starts campaign to educate public on judiciary's role in establishing a knowledge-based society

- DJI exhibits newly launched books and highlights achievements and services at Sharjah and Ajman trade exhibitions
The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI), a leading centre of law studies and judicial training in Dubai, has announced that it is participating in a series of trade exhibitions as part of a nationwide campaign to educate the public and build up awareness about the critical importance of law studies and the judiciary in the creation of a knowledge-based society in the UAE. DJI is currently participating in the Sharjah World Book Fair 2009, which is being held from November 11 to 21 at the Sharjah Expo Centre, and will also attend the "Legal Institutions and Community-Based Exhibition," which will be held at Sheikh Zayed Hall for Conferences and Exhibitions, Ajman University of Science and Technology from November 22 to 25, 2009.
DJI is showcasing at the Ajman and Sharjah exhibitions the four highly informative and easily comprehendible books that it recently launched. The books being exhibited are "Company Law” (According to the judicial precedents of the Cassation Court in Dubai)" by Judge Dr. Jamal Hussein Alsumaiti, Director General of Dubai Judicial Institute; "The trends set by UAE Courts in labour cases" by Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Abou Zayed, Professor of Civil Law, Dubai Judicial Institute; "Guardianship” (According to UAE’s personal status law enhanced by the judicial precedents of the Cassation Court in Dubai)" by Dr. Mohammed Abed Al Rihman Al Dowaini; and "The Civilian Prosecutor (Its development and function according to the latest legislation enhanced by the judicial precedents of the Cassation Court in Dubai)" by Chancellor Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed Kulaib.
Dr. Jamal Alsumaiti, Director General of Dubai Judicial Institute, said: "It is important to generate public awareness about the importance of the judicial system in promoting the healthy socioeconomic development of the UAE, particularly in our efforts to build a robust knowledge-based society. Our participation at the Sharjah World Book Fair 2009 and the Ajman exhibition are part of our strategy to make use of various existing networking platforms to showcase the achievements as well as the new services that are being offered by the Dubai Judicial Institute to the citizens and residents of Dubai and the UAE."
Established in 1996, the Dubai Judicial Institute educates and trains aspiring judges, lawyers and district attorneys. Its main goals are to promote judicial transparency, raise judicial standards and encourage promising and qualified UAE nationals to occupy key positions in the judicial system. The Institute provides legal consultancy and advice to various public and private organizations in the UAE and conducts detailed research in the legal field.
