Global Village opens its gates to a world of cultures today

- Premier tourism hub begins its 98-day run from November 22, 2009 to February 27, 2010
- A total of 6,000 world-class shows await visitors
Global Village, a member of Tatweer , the much celebrated cultural and entertainment hub, marks another festive season starting today, November 22, 2009, running for 98 days until February 27, 2010.
Being the premier culture and family destination in Dubailand, Global Village begins its 14th edition with the participation of more than 45 different cultures within 31 pavilions. Global Village changes its layout this year to provide visitors an easier access to the pavilions. By incorporating themes to represent four main cultures such as European, African, Arabian and Indo-Asian in its gates 1, 3, 4 and 5, park goers will find it more convenient to visit their preferred pavilions.
Other than the beautifully designed array of pavilions, this year’s edition of Global Village also promises to be a well-rounded celebration with almost 6,000 shows and performances that will certainly dazzle the millions of expected visitors. Highlights of these cultural performances include the thrilling Human Cannonball, the unique Chinese Flying Pole Show, the stunning pyrotechnics in Art of Fire, the energetic Bounce Trampoline Stunt Show, the splendid multi-cultural activities on the Community Stage, and the classic display of different heritages at the World Culture Stage.
Other key attractions include the gondolas that offer a remarkable scenic ride throughout the park’s man-made canal, the cultural performances in front of the pavilions, the bigger and improved fun fair rides, weekend firework displays, and lots of amazing surprises every now and then, and especially during festive occasions.
Global Village also boasts top quality facilities this edition with services including provision of 2 mosques, 20 restaurants, 29 restrooms, 6 ATM machines, 3 money exchange stalls, guest relation centres, ambulances, Lost & Found department, services for the disabled and a huge parking area that can accommodate almost 16,500 vehicles.
More so, special requirements for families are speedily and efficiently taken care of by courteous staff at the Global Village. Security and safety of the guests have been given utmost.
Doors open at 4pm and remain open till midnight except on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays when it is extended until 1am. Mondays are allotted for families only. Ticket costs AED 10 each, and a VIP Pack is also available. For the disabled and kids below three years old, entrance to Global Village is free.
