UAE Chefs Gather for Western Australian Abalone Limiteds Abalone Promotion at Al Bustan Rotana Dubai
|
DUBAI – The Al Bustan Rotana Dubai has the pleasure to be the venue of Western Australian Abalone Limited’s (WAA) exciting Abalone promotion on 24th – 25th November, 2009 at Come Prima Restaurant, which will be attended by chefs from all over the UAE. WAA is holding this important culinary event to introduce its product range to the top restaurants in the country with the aim of highlighting Abalone as versatile, healthy, luxury seafood.
Western Australian Abalone Limited is one of Australian major suppliers of Greenlip Abalone. The company successfully supplies farmed Greenlip Abalone to the Australian domestic market as well as export to Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China. Its added value products are exported to North America, Europe and India. WAA has been in line with its goal of promoting Abalone further into the international market, hence it has decided to bring the company’s famous Abalones to the UAE. For this Abalone promotion, WAA chose the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai as venue because of the hotel’s excellent quality standards, professionalism and the support it has presented on the quality of the versatile Greenlip Abalone.
“In preparing for this promotion, we have worked closely with local chefs”, says Tony Howard, Chief Executive Officer of Western Australian Abalone Limited. He continues, “this promotion will provide us with the opportunity to meet all the other chefs in the country and discuss the potential of the Greenlip Abalone within the United Arab Emirates.
Chef Christophe Prudhomme, Executive Chef of the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai and supporter of the event, adds “Abalones are highly sought after by Japanese chefs for sushi and other Japanese dishes. It is so versatile and you can create a lot of culinary masterpieces from it; it can be stir-fried, pan-fried, poached, steamed or stewed. The firm flesh of abalones is central to some of the best Oriental seafood recipes but having them in European dishes are also well possible.’’
The highlight of this important WAA event will be the free Abalone tasting sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, 24th and 25th November, 2009 offering all chefs in the UAE the opportunity to savour the distinct flavour of authentic Greenlip Abalone. Chefs may choose between two schedules on both days, from 10am-12 noon or from 8pm-10pm, whichever is suitable and convenient for them. Slot reservations can be made through Saham Hospitality Supply Chain services, the exclusive distributor for the UAE by sending emails to: admin@saham-international.com. Anticipating the success of this promotion, these sessions will also be a very important gathering of the country’s chefs to cook, sample and discuss the interesting possiblities of incorporating Abalones into their cuisines.
