•  The Italian-themed shopping mall lines up a plethora of events to join the city-wide celebrations

 
Mercato has planned a plethora of events to celebrate Eid Al Adha and the National Day of the UAE. The festivities will start next week to mark Eid Al Adha and continue with the National Day of the United Arab Emirates on 2^nd December, as Mercato joins the nation in celebrating the 38^th anniversary of the union of the seven emirates.
 
The mall will be fully decorated with the colours of the UAE flag to set the mood for the occasion, which will culminate with various special activities. The Majlis hospitality tent on the ground floor is open from 27^th November until 5^th December. From 6pm – 10 pm, visitors will be treated to delicious dates and Arabic Ghahwa, while being regaled with classic Arabic tunes played on the oud, tabla & qanoon. At the same time, ladies can enjoy the henna designs activity - available to those who wish to celebrate the occasion with a local touch.
 
On 1^st and 2^nd December from 7 pm – 10 pm, a wonderful National Stick Dancers group will be performing traditional Emirati Harbiya & Yola dances and singing melodic phrases praising the union of the emirates. 
 
Inspired by the precious UAE flag, a national flag made from balloons will be hung from the atrium one week before the UAE National Day. Make sure to be present in the mall on the 2nd December for the count down to release these balloons which will take place at 8:00 pm in celebration of the UAE 38th National Day! Additionally, the little ones can look forward to the Cup Cake activity! Children will be greeted with hundreds of mini cupcakes in the shape and colors of the UAE flag.
 
Additionally, from 26^th November to 5^th December, the Heritage area on the first floor is an interesting station to visit; showing old Emirati traditional artifacts comes alive in front of you! National merchandise including Yola sticks, UAE flags, weaved goods, and much more will be on sale to buy a little souvenir.
 
Between 19th November and 19th December, Mercato will have special mall timings from 10am to 12 midnight (Though certain stores may opt to open at 1:30pm on Fridays). Spinneys is open throughout the period from 8am – midnight and the Cinema from 10am to 12 midnight daily.
