Dubai - Dreaming of snow-capped mountains in a winter wonderland? Make your dream come true and enjoy a magical season with the Ski Holidays 2009-2010 brochure from Emirates Holidays.
This year, Emirates Holidays, the tour operating arm of Emirates airline, has broadened the appeal of its popular ski brochure with the introduction of winter experiences, in addition to its high quality ski holidays.
The new offering is aimed at travellers who are not necessarily skiers, but are simply looking to enjoy a winter holiday or spend the festive season against a backdrop of snowy-white mountains.
Dina Al Herais, Vice President Commercial Operations, Emirates Holidays, said: “The team at Emirates Holidays has worked hard to create a product that meets the needs of every type of traveller and budget. We always keep our products fresh and this year we have added ‘winter experiences,’ from shopping for traditional handicrafts in the famous Christmas Markets, to simply soaking in the culture in beautiful Innsbruck where the atmosphere is guaranteed to enchant.”
Exploring Europe’s Christmas Markets is one of the most exciting activities of the festive season. Usually held in old, cobble-stoned town centres surrounded by historic houses and churches, the Christmas Markets teem with brightly lit trees, as well as stalls and food stands selling traditional decorative items, gifts and foods.
Innsbruck in Austria, which is featured in the brochure for the first time, offers visitors the infrastructure, culture and attractions of a cosmopolitan European mountain city ideal for a short break to enjoy the white winter magic. Renowned for its extensive cultural events and stunning architecture, Innsbruck is also famous for having played host to the Winter Olympics. Innsbruck likewise boasts a world class lift system with exceptional on and off piste varieties for every level of skier.
From AED 3,927 per person on twin-sharing basis, travellers can enjoy a winter experience at the Hilton Innsbruck. This includes Economy Class airfare Dubai/Munich/Dubai, three nights’ accommodation with American breakfast, room tax and service charges. The offer is valid from 17th November 2009 to 10th April 2010.
For the more adventurous winter sports enthusiasts, the new brochure gives a wide selection of ski resorts offering the finest ski slopes catering for all skill levels, as well as a range of other activities such as snowboarding, ice skating, tobogganing, dog sledding and sleigh rides. Vibrant apres ski - excellent restaurants and entertainment – await holiday makers.
With 18 premier ski resorts and 72 hotels in seven countries, including Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Lebanon, the US and Canada, the ski brochure provides an extensive choice of flexible and tailor-made packages designed specifically to help travellers make the most out of their winter holiday.
Ski holidays to Zell Am See - Austria, which remains one of the favourite winter destinations, begin at AED 4,896 per person on twin-sharing accommodation for seven nights on half-board basis. The package is inclusive of Economy Class airfare Dubai/Munich/Dubai, room tax and service charges, and is valid from 5th December 2009 to 10th April 2010.
Packages to Interlaken, Switzerland start from AED 4,407 per person on twin-sharing basis and include Economy Class airfare Dubai/Zurich/Dubai, seven nights’ accommodation, American breakfast, room tax and service charges. The offer is valid from 17th November 2009 to 10th April, 2010.
Skywards members booking their winter holiday will receive up to 20 per cent bonus miles when they book hotel accommodation for a minimum of three nights.
Comprehensive insurance can also be provided by Emirates Holidays through Ski-Guard, a specialist winter sports travel insurance company that offers a wide range of benefits covering almost any eventuality, including lost equipment, airport delays, cancellation and medical expenses. In the event of piste closure Ski-Guard also covers transportation to the nearest available alternative as well as providing avalanche cover.
For those who want to learn how to ski or snowboard or just want to warm up before their holiday, Emirates Holidays also offers a unique snow experience at Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates.
