Dubai Internet City Participates in Water Bucket Walk to Mark UN Universal Childrens Day

Employees of Dubai Internet City, a member of TECOM Investments, and its business partners joined the ‘Water Bucket Walk’ in large numbers to mark the 20^th anniversary of the United Nations’ Universal Children’s Day. The fund-raising event was held on 20 November.
 
Hosted by Dubai Cares, a UAE-based charity organisation, to improve children's access to primary education in developing countries, the walkathon commenced from Jumeirah Beach Park with participants carrying a bucket of water on their heads along a 3km stretch, similar to a child’s daily routine in a rural community.
 
A symbolic walkathon to make people in the UAE Community aware of the fraction of difficulties that children face on a daily basis, the ‘Water Bucket Walk’ campaign aims to raise money and provide children with access to clean drinking water – especially through building water wells in schools.
