In the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Azza Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Dubai Womens College Celebrates UAE 38th National Day

Dubai - In the presence of DWC Alumnae, Sheikha Azza Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, daughter of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, Dubai Women’s College (DWC) celebrated the 38th UAE National Day. On this occasion, Sheikha Azza presented two copies of her father’s new Autobiography for the DWC Library.
The UAE National Day celebration at DWC was filled with day-long performances, traditional dances performed by Emirati children, competition for Best UAE Dress for faculty, Abaya Fashion Show and traditional souq where students managed their mini-businesses.
UAE flags were hung everywhere on campus the corridors, the colleges’ atrium and even stitched on students' clothes. The highlight of the event, which reflected the heritage and traditions of the UAE, was a play performed by students.
Also on site was a special photography Exhibition entitled “UAE Past and Present” held in cooperation with Juma Al Majed Center and paratroopers show performed by UAE skydiving team on DWC’s campus carrying UAE’s and Higher Colleges of Technology’s (HCT) flags.
Habiba Abdooli, President of DWC Student Parliament said that she is glad to have the chance to celebrate this National Day at DWC on a grand scale. DWC Student Parliament’s Public Relations Officer, Ayesha Shukralla added that this year the Student Parliament has organized the entire event. “We have concentrated on showcasing students’ talents through displaying their hand-made products like accessories, hair clips and Abayas,” she pointed out.
For over 20 years, DWC has been an HCT flagship institution providing world-class education for women in the UAE. With a mission supported by the ELITE principles: Excellence, Leadership, Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship, DWC has been recognized as being at the pinnacle of higher education in UAE.
